Attorney David G. Schiller has represented over one hundred employees in a wide range of cases under the False Claims Act and for discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and lack of just cause.
David is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law (1998, cum laude), where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Inter-American Law Review. David graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh and received a B.S. Degree from Guilford College.
David has litigated cases in the North Carolina State and Federal Courts and has argued cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, Supreme Court of North Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
David’s appellate cases include:
Godon v. N.C. Crime Control, Federal Court of Appeals, 4th Cir. (2000) (federal employee free speech case);
Jordan v. NC Dept. of Correction (2001) (won in the N.C. Court of Appeals, reversing 3 decisions in lower courts);
Leak v. NC Dept. of Public Instruction (2006) (winning reinstatement and backpay); and
Gilreath v. NC Dept. of Health and Human Services (2006)(reversing summary judgment against State employee).
U.S. Magistrate Judge Denson commended David’s “excellent brief” in Napier v. Wells Fargo (2001), a complex class action race discrimination case.
David is a member of the Wake County and North Carolina Bar Associations and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
